Time

Time is one thing that keeps moving despite natural disasters, economic hardships, or simply wishing it  to slow down.  It is unstoppable.  The seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years, and centuries keep progressing.  In the broad spectrum, like faith, it’s a given fact.  We don’t even question it.

Time in the human spectrum, not so much.  We are given a finite amount of moments.  From the second we are born, our minutes, hours, days, months, and years have started ticking away.  We don’t know when they will end, but we are assured our clock will eventually quick ticking.

What matters is how we fill those years from the first breath until the last.  Do we choose to fill our lives with love, family, and experiences?  Do we choose to climb for success and have our names live on in history?  Do we strive for both?

I’ve been thinking about the precious years we are given and the uncertainty of when they will cease.  I’m 54 and finally made the discovery of what I really, really wish my life legacy to be.   I want a life lived fully–a life full of love, memories and experiences, and mostly kindness and generosity.

What do you want to do with the finite minutes you are given?

  1. I’m with you on kindness, generosity in giving time to others and acceptance of all humans. But I also want to give time to the consumption of chocolate 😉

  2. I think those things are given for me as that’s what Jesus would want. What I would like especially just for me is to learn to accept and love myself just as I am. 🙂

  3. I’ve been wonderfully blessed. I worked for 23 years with abused, neglected, and emotionally disturbed kids. So many of them are now grown, are productive functioning members of society, have families of their own and have broken the cycle of abuse. Many of them have let me know I was a part of their healing. I can’t think of anything much better than that. I’m humbled and honored to have known each and every child.

  4. I want to write. I want to share my imagination and wisdom. I want see my fashion designs come to life. I want to spend as much quality time with my parents and family and child. I hope love finds me soon 😊

  5. I am finally doing it…living the life I want to the fullest…I am 59 and happy as a clam…I was able to retire in 2012 and have never been more at peace with my life….kat

  6. Amen Sister! Living life to the fullest is the key! I am 52 and just recently started enjoyng my life. I spent so many years working 3 jobs to make ends meet, going to school, trying to procure a better future while neglecting my family at home. I made a lot of mistakes along the way and have learned from them. I am happier now than I have been in my life, with a loving wife who supports me in every way and makes my every day beautiful just by being in it. We have long discussions about everything under the sun and make new memories every day.
