Saint Louis RV Park Review – Full-Time RV Life

IMG_2804 2

During our weekend in St. Louis, we stayed at the St. Louis RV Park, which was downtown near the heart of the city.  It was just a few blocks from the City Museum, downtown eateries and businesses, and the magnificent Arch.

PRICE POINT, CLEANLINESS, AND APPEARANCE:  The rate during our visit was $70 per night.  Our plans were to be there only for the weekend and everything we wanted to see was within close proximity.   This park was perfect for us.  It was basically a parking lot with several hookups to fit any size rig.  It was set within part of a city block and surrounded by fencing and shrubbery.  It’s not a let’s-stay-for-a-few-days-and-enjoy-the-upscale-amenities type of resort, it is there for a place to unwind and sleep after an exciting day of exploring the city.

EASE OF ENTERING AND EXITING THE SITE AND ACCESS TO HOOKUPS:  The park was set up for easy maneuverability to the sites and for hookups.  Most are pull-throughs, though there are back-in sites along the edges of the park.  The hookups were up to date and very easily accessed.

AMENITIES/WI-FI:  Again, it’s not meant as a long-term stay RV park.  They do have a nice pool and wi-fi was adequate for e-mail and other basic purposes.  The office has many brochures on local sights and restaurants and there is a small camp store for necessities.

FRIENDLINESS OF STAFF:  The friendliness of the staff was exceptional.  They were helpful in planning our stay and seeing the highlights of St. Louis.  They gave advice on where to park, what restaurants the locals enjoyed, and how to prioritize the sights to get the biggest bang for our short time in the city.

WOULD WE STAY AGAIN:  Definitely!  It’s THE park to stay in to tour St. Louis and the downtown area.

I’m always drawn to the attitude of the campground staff.  St. Louis RV Park was welcoming, gracious, and enhanced our stay.  We highly recommend them and will stay with them again to explore St. Louis in more detail.

  1. Be careful going into Austin. We lived there for twenty years and in all that time the drivers only got worse instead of better.
On an aside, my hubby and I went camping this week and watched with dismay as a new owner of a gorgeous RV tried to back up into a space designed for a popup. It wasn’t a pretty rv when they finally gave up. Stay safe!

    1. Oh, I can’t imagine seeing someone do that! My husband drives ours like it is fine china–it’s his baby. 🙂 We will actually be staying outside of Austin in Bastrop. I am terrified of Austin traffic–I white-knuckle it every time I have to drive in it. Happy camping to you and hubby! Thanks for reading! Dawn
