Red Rock Canyon – Full-Time RV Life

The Las Vegas area has so much more to offer than the Vegas Strip.  Roy and Judy invited me along while they explored some of the more natural areas out first week in Nevada.  They were extremely patient while I took photos during our drive through Red Rock Canyon.  We were treated to some of the most breathtaking views.  Below is a photographic tour through the park.

This was entrance to a beautiful drive.  It’s sad someone decided to leave their crappy artwork.

The rich, colorful layers paint a beautiful landscape.

It looked as if a storm was coming in, but the rain never came.  The darkening skies made shadows dance on the desert floor and gave depth to the colors in the rock.

I wish there were more words than beautiful, breathtaking, stunning–all words inadequate to describe the landscape as far as the eyes can see.

The desert floor, the jutting rocks, the plants–all made a work of art.

I loved this scene.  Do you see faces in the rock?  I see so many images.

This scene was behind the Visitor’s Center.  The solar panels are used in an effort to conserve energy and protect natural resources.

Red Rock Canyon is a beautiful drive with several areas to stop and take photos or simply enjoy the stunning views.  It’s a truly magnificent park.  I loved looking onto the wide vistas and realizing just how small I am in this big huge world and how blessed I am to stand among the earth’s glory.

I love places that put life in perspective.

  1. I love Red Rock Canyon. Went there twice on our last trip to Vegas. Once for the scenic drive and a short hike with Sean. The next time I went back by myself for a longer hike.

    1. When we are back in the area I hope to explore some more. We didn’t do any hikes this time around. This was on my list because of the video Sean and you did on Vegas. Thanks for the recommendation!

  2. I don’t know if it was Red Rock we saw when we were in the helicopter ride but there were some pretty different colors in the rocks as we flew over. Your pictures, as always, are gorgeous. You put us right there!

    1. I’m glad we had the opportunity to visit Red Rock. Every time I see a location I think is beautiful, we find somewhere else that touches us in a different way. Now, we are finding ourselves tuckered out from all the exploring and taking some downtime to visit my daughter in Missouri–another breathtaking sight that creates even sweeter memories.

  3. This is beautiful, thank you! I drove with my partner from LA through Las Vegas onto Zion Park. The views were stunning! 🙂 Blessings your way … and so glad to know you.
